The Pink Lippies Review

Tuesday, December 27, 2016

Hello guys! This is gonna be my last post for 2016 and I hope you guys have an amazing 2017! ♥ I have many amazing things planned for the blog and my life for 2017 and I hope to share it with you guys along the way.

So, the lipstick I got are Elle 18 Colour Pop in the shade Hot Pink. The colour is absolutely amazing and it is super moisturizing + it is super cheap. Only downside is, it does not have great staying power, but for the price, I think it's really good.

Next, I was actually gifted this one and I had been wanting a matte pink lipstick for a long time so, this one is the Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor in the shade Pop of Pink. I don't like the feel initially since it's powdery but later it isn't so bad, however, the colour is really pretty but i'd recommend this for people with a fair skin tone as otherwise, it tends to make your face look flushed out. Also, it has a great staying power.

━ How I am prepping for 2017 ♥

Thursday, December 22, 2016

So, I am a person that always has a mental to-do list. And I am a procrastinator, so, you can tell it doesn't go very well. But, I've always love stationeries and planners and journals(though I lose go on haitus sometimes)and I came across this concept of bullet journaling a few months ago and I think this new year is a PERFECT time to start doing it. This method seems very convenient, versatile and fast. I really can't wait to start bullet journaling this year and Buzzfeed's guide is something that is interesting, to the point and very clear. By far my favourite bullet journaling guide.

━ Life

Wednesday, September 07, 2016

A lot happened when I was in haitus, I wouldn't necessarily call it bad or good but it was new and I would it all over again. Life is always gonna happen to you and you have to take it all in. Always. Sometimes, it takes time, maybe a few days, a couple of months or couple of years. but you have to know that nothing that happens is bigger than life itself and you have to keep telling it to yourself until you start believing it.

So, in the last couple of months, I chopped off my long curly locks, that's something I haven't done since kindergarten, I have been trying to go easy on myself for everything and accept whatever I have and do it well. Hopefully, this semester will been as good as the last ones. I am starting to a little stressed about my career and have my mini anxiety attacks but "This to shall pass.''

Things I have been loving :
Things I want to be doing :
  • Study well.
  • Be a better photo editor
  • Learn mixing
  • Read more books from the college library
  • Find time to play basketball <3
  • Eat cleaner

College and Budget!

Sunday, June 12, 2016

College is a frantic time. All those classes, clubs, events, weekends, friends, last minute projects and then there is maxing out credit cards or being totally broke only after half the month. That's why it's always smarter to organize the budget and work on saving up. Here are a few tips from me but to really know the tricks, it's better to learn it from the pros like Credit Card Insider who are absolute experts at handling credit cards and credits. When life throws college at you, you suddenly feel stripped off all the privileges and real life smacking right at your face, Credit Card Insider has many recommendations for student credit cards and will help you pick out the perfect card to go through this "traumatic" few months.

Save first, then spend.
This has been the most helpful tip I ever came across. Most people save what is left behind after they spend but the wiser way is to first have a realistic saving and then make a reasonable budget with what is left.
Make a monthly budget.
This is very obvious. I'm still working on the art of staying withing the limit but this is one of best ways to save. I heard somewhere that it is always better to plan in such a way that the budget is lower than expected so that, even if you exceed, you stay within a "happy" budget.

Gather more friends for a night out.
Now, since we're talking about college, this is by far my tried, tested and approved formula. It's always nice to have a large group to go out with since then, splitting the bill is easier on your pocket. One might think, the ratio is always same, but trust me! It's not. You might be surprised how much with the amount and variety you get when you start sharing. ;)

Understand the difference between "needs" and "wants".
College is a time when even the princesses have barely make it through sometimes(financially). To make it easier, learn to prioritize things. Learn to differentiate between needs and wants, You don't wanna spend money on a couple of lipstick that you just to add to your collection and miss out on that trip you are planning for this summer,

Walk a lot.
I love walking, so, it's always easier for me. Walking will help you to relief stress and also will be a nice calming workout and hey! you're saving bucks to!

Volunteer for campus events/clubs for free food.
A straight away example for this one, I was working for a club this semester and guess what on the big 3 day event it organised, the members got catered free food for the whole three days and I ended up getting a promotion.

Track, do the math and revise.
Budgeting doesn't come easy. It is an art. So, if you faulter the first time, learn where you went wrong, where you can cut off and where you need to spend more and soon  enough, you'll be a pro at it.

The Hunt : Part #1

Tuesday, June 07, 2016

Lately, I have been really obsessed with nude/brown-ish palette for makeup and hence, I have been looking out for the perfect brown lipstick for my skin tone. So, the first time I ordered, I received something which was orange with a little shimmer. Nah! So, this time, I hand picked this one. It's from Faces and the shade is "Honey Lust". It was actually very cheap compared to how much makeup actually costs. I got it for around Rs 175 that under $3 (US). I am not sure this is the shade that I want but it's not bad. It's nice for a sunny day if I was very "light" makeup. I wanted a darker shade though and I am not too sure if I can "mattify"it with some powder. But all in all, it's a nice product for the price if this is the shade you are looking for.

Summer Challenge!

Saturday, June 04, 2016

So, what's up guys?
I'm just so hyped about getting something done this summer because every holiday that I am back home, I just spend my days lazing on my bed so, this time hopefully, I'll get a thing or two done. So, firstly, I am thinking of doing the Lauren Conrad's "30 Day Ab Challenge", I decided that since I ALWAYS plan on a healthier holiday, why not incorporate a  mini challenge to it to have mini everyday goals to look forward to. Today was my first day and it was easy, but the way it progresses, I am a little worried about the latter days. :P

Also, the next challenge is something I'd love to try but, given my poor art skills, I'm having double thoughts about it.

Guys, let me know if there are any such interesting challenges(?) that you know because I'd love to try them.

Thank You.

My Childhood Sweethearts ♥

Thursday, June 02, 2016

It'd be a lie if I say that the Olsen twins haven't been my longest love affair. My childhood is actually just Olsen twins. Grew up reading "Two of a Kind","Sweet 16" and all of that book. It's a shame I couldn't read all of their books but, my childhood was amazing and thanks to them. I somehow feel I am what I am and most of the reason is them and I love that part of me. ♥

There are very few people that I adore at this level which is almost 'worship'. The other two are Jared Leto and Taylor Swift. I somehow feel, no matter how they are, who they are, they are all GENIUSES! And wow man wow! they are so stark beautiful ♥

]So, this post is actually me asking for help!

I don't really have THAT many ideas for summer so, maybe you can help me. Please do suggest me some fun things that can be done these 2 months. (*YES! T-W-O months of holidaysssss!)

    • Either dye/cut my hair. (mine is curly. Any suggestions?)
    • Obviously, getting fit. :P (as always)

Happy Summer guys!

Playilist : January Jams

Saturday, January 16, 2016

How has 2016 been treating you guys? I am thinking I should make a bucket list. Like monthly bucket list. That would be a good idea right? Tell me what you guys think about it. But nevermind, I am someone who puts on songs to get ready for college. Hopefully, that doesn't piss my roommate off.

Anyway, This month's gonna have a lot of One Direction songs. Sorry for that. If I could, The whole album would be here but I haven't listened to the other songs properly, mainly because I can't get enough of the one's on my list. But, They'll be here too soon. Trust me. I love their new album. I miss Zayn, but, this album is love. Lovely. Beautifully. Crazy beautiful. It's like they've entered another stage, you know like from boys singing hip songs to Manly touchy songs. I hope they come back and keep growing up with us. You know what I mean right? It's so nice when you think of it like we're all growing up together, the EXACT songs that we wanna listen to at this age, THEIR AGE. I'm probably confusing you. Nevermind.

1. Devil Side - Foxes
2. End of the day - One Direction
3. Want you to want me - Jason Derulo
4. Spark - Afrojack feat. Spree Wilson
5. Army - Ellie Goulding
6. If I could fly - One Direction
7. A.M -One Direction
8. Not a bad thing - Justin Timberlake
9. Youth - Daughter

5 ways to relax yourslef (anti-Netflix and chill tips!) :

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Well, I said anti-Netflix because well, non of the ways below makes you lay down on your bed under blankets and sit and watch people have a very photogenic life while your (my!) life is just bland. So, 2016 is the year to step up your game and I mean it. STOP! envying at other people's life and blame your life for not being like theirs because trust me, it is. Get up. Go out. Live. What I've realized is, you cannot say "If I lived where they do, I'd have an amazing life too" if you are not willing to even take a new step forward. Break from your routine. There are so many things in the world that you'll never be able to try so, start now. I've never really known what I like and it's embarrassing. So, maybe this year, I'll really listen o myself and find out the things that I really like and things that may not be on my favourites list.

Anyway, coming to the point, I always found it more relaxing when I am all by myself. And here are 6 things that help you shake off the tension and yes #4 is weird.

1. Go for  a walk : Just put on some comfy warm clothes and walk. It doesn't have to be brisk if you don't like it. Just walk. Put on some music if you like and drown yourself in the city's noise or the calm and get lost in the crowd and go where your heart takes you.Maybe look around a neighbourhood you've never visited or a mall. It's always good to walk when you are in your explorer mode because, you don't have to worry about parking or the traffic.
2. Take yourself for a date: It doesn't need to be fancy. Go to a cozy cafe. Order some hot chocolate and enjoy and let the time pass by. You can try writing the feeling down or make crazy sketched of people or just making an entry on your journal and make lists of random things. Eg: perfumes, places you wanna visit, favorite quotes, etc. Don't forget to write down why. The reasons can be one word or a phrase, just the idea that you like. It's make you feel  like you got heavy weights off your shoulder and later you can look back at these things and trust me, it feels reallyyy good. It's like a record of a person you once were.
3.     If you feel like baking  cookies, sitting by a bonfires, having some ice cream, the smell of your favourite candles etc, go do it but don't forget to take in the warm happy feeling it gives you .
4. Put on some music and sway (Don't forget the make up and mirror) : I do this all the time, put on some nice music that you'll love "SWAYING" to. Put on your favorite lipstick and enact the whole song. You can also jump and run in place as if you are in the video and you'll burn some good calories. Tip  :  Keep your doors locked.
5. Room therapy : I love a good smelling room so, go buy so candles or incense stick . Put on some fairy lights and read a good book.
6.       Organize your room : Though it might not always seem relaxing, I personally find it easier to relax or concentrate on things once the surrounding is prim and proper. Put one some happy music, sing along and try cleaning your room and work with the beat so, put on some fast paced songs and trust me it doesn't feel like work at all and you'll be so proud of yourself.

What I have been reading : Sidney Sheldon's "Reckless"

Monday, January 04, 2016

I bought this on the airport on my way back home for holidays. And I did read it, before 2015 ended so, I was working on my resolution even before 2016. *smirk* Nevermind.
So, I could not resist myself when I saw this on the rack because it has been ages since I read one of works of "The King of Suspense" and I guess the person at the bookstore saw me drooling because he came up to me and tried convincing me for 5 minutes to buy this book. He didn't have to. I guess I went to the store two times. Okay. Here is the back cover text :

I don't know what you are thinking, but I kind of took it the wrong way. I'll leave it to you to imagine Mrs.Schmidt as the villain or the heroine. But, all in all the book was a good time killer. Also, I woke up till 5 in the morning to finish this off. But, it does have the typical touches of Sidney Sheldon's work so, if you are a devotee of that man, you may get close to guessing about what happens with whom. But! I love Sidney Sheldon and this was a nice read. And, is it just me? or is Sidney Sheldon a professional at creating dangerously sexy men? Just saying.

Happy New Year to the blogging world!

I already feel a bit pumped because 2+0+1+6= 9 ( which is a number that I love), so, hopefully, I'll have some good luck with all my dreams and wishes. So, the last year and a half has been quite of ride for me. I did have my good luck with college and stuff but about what I really want to do in life, I've been failing, I guess, but I've also been trying but whatever happened, I know I learned a lot. I now, know things which I could do to improve and also, things that I've been doing wrong. I have a lot of resolutions this year, I don't know how hard they'll be to keep up, but, I know my priorities now, and hopefully, I'll have the drive to work hard this time around.

1. Read more, staying hydrated, actually working on academics etc

So, basically love myself more. Last, year, I just didn't care about myself enough to keep up with all the gallons of water to drink, or read or give a damn about my deteriorating skin. I'm gonna do it this year around.

2. Get moving :

I promise to workout like the beast (almost!) I was when I was 17. Trust me, 18 was absolutely "Love Myself  Later" year and I promise to move even if it is a 15 minutes walk , EVERY SINGLE DAY.

3. Forgive myself and Forget the past :

Regrets are awful. Not because you did wrong but because they grab hold of you and don't let you get your game back on. I have regrets but I think I gave those bastards way more time than they deserved and they held me back. This year, I'll be more forgiving.

4. Stay motivated :

One of the reasons I slacked was probably because I lost motivation. I know, the feeling when you are overwhelmed with motivation and it's pumping and you need a way to release it and so, I worked out and led the life I wished for. I remember thinking of the people I admire and my eyes getting watery because, WOW! I wanted to be there.

5. Really work on this blog :

I got a planner and I'll be more organized and actually work hard for this blog. ♥

6. Push myself and be optimistic :

I was so close, I slacked. Back to square one. But, instead of being hard on myself, I should've seen my capability and the possibility of me actually making my dreams come true. So, nothing you really want ever comes easy right? So, what's the fun if you succeed the first time around? So, I was just testing the water last time. this time, I am serious. (Me trying o be optimistic. Hahah! Still made me smile ;))

7. Let my soul live:

I have always adore yoginis and backpackers. So, this year, I'll try to meditate a little. Hahaha! But, I'm gonna try. Also, I've been trying to go vegan but failing like a hundredth time now, but i try it anyway. Something about veganism makes me feel so good. So right. But it's hard in college, when there is nothing and all the vegan things are actually very unhealthy. But, I'll try again I guess. ;)

Good luck to everyone!
I wish you have a great life from this year on!
